Leihao, is a beautiful flower grown in Manipur that symbolizes purity. Manipuris usually offer this to gods and goddesses for bringing peace and prosperity to the society. Also women in Manipur wear Leihao on their hair symbolising happy moments. Hence we have taken Leihao as the brand logo of Manipuri Women Gun Survivors Network to signify product line made by women gun survivors mostly traditional handloom, handicraft & paintings. Its a humble initiative to provide livelihood and act as a healing touch to the fractured lives of women and children so that their lives can go on with a new found courage.

MEIRA PAIBI

Meira Paibi is women’s association and one of the largest grassroots human rights movements in Manipur, comprising virtually the entire adult Meitei female population in every Meitei town and village. It is the watchdog of civil rights violations at the community level, initiating and engaging in campaigns against rights violations, such as arbitrary detention, cordon and search operations, and torture, committed by the security personnel of the federal government of India. YUBI LAKPI

Yubi Lakpi, also known as Yubee–Lakpee, is a popular outdoor game native to Manipur. Played exclusively by men, it has some similarity with Rugby. The word ‘yubee’ means coconut and ‘lakpee’ means snatching. Yubi Lakpi is played by dividing the players into two groups. Generally each team contains seven players. The game starts as the coconut, properly smeared, is thrown from one end of the field and each player tries to catch it.

RAS LILA MANIPURI DANCE

The Ras Lila depicts the fond love of Radha for Lord Krishna as well as the sheer devotion of the Gopies toward the Lord. It is generally performed in an enclosure in front of the temple throughout night. Ras performances are seasonal and varied and performed at the temple of Shree Shree Govindajee in Imphal on the nights of Basanta Purnima, Sarada Purnima and Kartik Purnima and at local temples later. As to the composition, the performance is a combination of solo, duet and group dances. The dances are graceful and so are the costumes.

KHAMBA THOIBI MANIPURI DANCE

A dance of dedication to the sylvan deity, Khamba Thoibi dance is a duet of male and female partners. This dance is a part and parcel of Moirang Lai-Haraoba. It is believed that the legendary hero – Khamba and heroin – Thoibi danced together before the Lord Thangjing, a celebrated deity of Moirang, a village in the South-West of Manipur which is known for its rich cultural traditions, for peace and prosperity of the land. This dance is a depiction of the dance performed by Khamba and Thoibi.
